Household Assistant – Permanent & Full-Time
The Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) is seeking to recruit a Household Assistant in a Permanent & Full-Time capacity to join the Household team.
The successful candidate will assist in a range of household duties, including, but not limited to: assisting in the preparation and service of beverages and functions for students and DDUH staff to the required company standards of hygiene, health and safety. The post reports to and is accountable to the Household Manager or Head of Department, all matters relating to the job.
Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the Household staff includes but is not limited to:
Set up common room - brew coffees turn on dishwasher. Fill milk up. Set up functions if required. Turn on lights. Organise tables and chairs.
Laundry room - organise delivery and dispense scrubs when needed.
Set up any functions as required.
The checking of waste bins frequently – empty as required, change bags and bring waste to collection point – frequently and not less than every two hours.
Checking/cleaning of hand sanitising units and replenish as necessary.
Household management of all kitchens – checking frequently; clean furniture, clean fridges, clean microwaves, empty dishwashers, replenish stocks of foods and cleaning materials.
Attend to any spillages throughout the day.
Assist with Hospitality events during the working day as they arise.
Weekly Deep clean of dishwashers.
Serving board meeting and functions.
General attendance in staff canteen.
Restocking and Cleaning.
Applicants for the post must:
Have achieved a good standard of education or equivalent Leaving Certificate.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.
Have at least 1+ years relevant experience.
Demonstrate a good understanding of hygiene, health and safety, HACCP and COSHH Regulations.
Must be available to work Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 4:00pm & Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm.
Candidates must ideally:
Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
Have the ability to undertake the physical demands of the role.
Be motivated and able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
Possess a clear understanding and commitment to the ethos and philosophy of Dublin Dental University Hospital.
Be of good character.
